UPDATE: Former Greene Co. postal carrier gets probation in theft case
A former Greene County, TN postal worker who admitted earlier this year to stealing medications from veterans along his route has received probation from a federal judge.
Bronson A. Cobble was also ordered to pay back more than $1,200 in restitution and court costs in the ruling made this week in federal court in Greeneville.
Court documents obtained by News 5 show Cobble waived his indictment in June and entered into a plea agreement with prosecutors who said the mail carrier stole 33 packages of narcotics addressed to patients of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and then used them.
Cobble was working for a contracted mail service based in Knoxville at the time of the investigation, the reports said.
