UPDATE: Johnson County juvenile pleads guilty in 2015 murder
A juvenile who police said killed an 84-year-old Johnson County woman in 2015 pleaded guilty Friday in Criminal Court.
The child, who was 11-years-old at the time of the December 2015 slaying of Butler, TN, resident Teruko Shaw, will remain jailed until his 19th birthday.
He was charged with felony murder, theft of property and especially aggravated burglary in December 2016 after police ruled Shaw's death a homicide in March 2016.
Shaw, 84, and a native of Japan was found dead outside her home. Although a sword was taken from the elderly woman's home, Sheriff Mike Reece said a pair of gardening shears was used in the crime.
