A Kingsport man who kidnapped and robbed his mother and grandmother prior to Mothers Day Weekend has been arrested after police said he returned to his mother's home Monday afternoon.

Police said Matthew Quillen, 27, was arrested after investigators received a tip that he had returned to the home in the 1400 block of Bell Ridge Drive. He was taken into custody just after 3 p.m.

Quillen and girlfriend Kristen Way, 22, reportedly ransacked the home for several hours after gagging the family members with their own underwear then duct-taping their hands and feet- only taking an antique coin collection.

The victims stayed bound for 12 hours until falling asleep and then calling authorities, police reported.

Way was arrested at her home while warrants for two counts of aggravated robbery and especially aggravated kidnapping were taken out for Quillen's arrest on May 11.

Quillen is now being held in the Kingsport City Jail without bond. Way is being held on a $50,000 bond.
