A Kingsport, Tennessee, man indicted last year after federal prosecutors said he had downloaded child porn images on a computer since the late 1990s has taken a plea deal.

Court documents obtained by News 5 show Gregg Paul Smith entered a guilty plea in U.S. District Court in Greeneville to one count of knowingly receiving child pornography and possession of stolen firearms. He is scheduled for sentencing on October 11.

Those reports showed Smith admitted to police investigators that he downloaded more than 7,400 child porn images and over 200 videos involving young children. He also admitted that he took the weapons while employed at a Kingsport gun shop. He was indicted on the charges in September 2016, the report said.

Records showed Smith obtained the illegal files beginning in October 1998. Agents seized the computer and five external hard drives in August.
