UPDATE: Royston formally charged with murder; Mother arrested

Investigators with the Sullivan County, TN Sheriff's Office obtained arrest warrants Monday for a man named as a person of interest in a murder case based in Bristol.

Johnny Royston, Jr., 36, is now charged with the second-degree murder of Rowdy Yates who was found behind of a camper on property located in the 500 block of Eatons Private Drive early Saturday morning. He later died at the scene.

The search for Royston over the weekend included a possible sighting late Sunday at a convenience store in the Exit 5 area of Bristol, Virginia, police said. He is believed to be traveling in a white Suzuki Sidekick after ditching two other vehicles.

In relation to the suspect sighting, News 5 confirmed that Royston's mother Patsy has been charged with one count of giving false information to a police officer.
