Warmer weather has local rescue mission in need of bottled water
BRISTOL, Tenn. - The warmer weather has a local rescue mission concerned about their clients. Their focus is hydration.
Haven of Rest in Bristol serves the homeless and the helpless.
They started a bottled water drive on their Facebook page after running dry. So far, the community has helped raise 35 cases of water; however, the center is still in desperate need.
CEO of Haven of Rest Brian Plank says, "this time of year there really isn't many places they can go. With the residents we keep and people that volunteer for us--either in the pantry or in the thrift store--they're taken care of, but these out on the street we'd like to send them out with something during the day to make sure they don't have any problems with water."
Haven of Rest is still accepting bottled water, but the rescue mission also needs other basic care items throughout the summer like laundry detergent, sunscreen, and other basic hygiene supplies.
