YWCA helping girls get ready for prom
Prom season is around the corner and the YWCA of Bristol is offering dresses at cut rate prices for girls shopping on a budget.
Organizer Tammy Henkel says many of the donated dresses have only been worn once and some are even new. Each dress will cost only twenty-five dollars and Henkel says if that's a hardship they will give any dress away for free.
She says they have about 14-hundred dresses so girls should be able to find the one of their dreams.
"There's long ones. They're short ones. There's trumpet style. There's ball gowns. There's, you know, dresses for girls who are a little bit more modest. There's just something for everybody," Henkel said.
Henkel says while they do have all those styles they could use more plus size dresses sizes 18 or larger.
The store will be open at the YWCA gym for students Thursday evening and Friday. The public is invited to come on Saturday.
