Man killed in head-on Russell County crash
One man is dead following a head-on crash in Russell County, according to Virginia State Police.
Virginia State Police said a 2017 Honda Civic was traveling east in the westbound lanes of Route 58 near Route 614 when it collided head-on with a 2009 Chevrolet 2500 pickup truck.
The driver of the Honda, 21-year-old Benjamin C. Ratliff of Swords Creek, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt, police added.
The driver of the pickup was taken to Bristol Regional Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
