Marion WWII veteran celebrates 99th birthday

MARION, Va. - A World War II veteran is celebrating his 99th birthday today.

Earl Coleman of Marion was congratulated for the milestone birthday by Mayor David Helms with a birthday card. He also received a key to the town.

Coleman points to support from his family and church for his long life.

"It has a lot to do with your happiness because if you aren't happy in here," Coleman said pointing to his head. "You aren't going to be happy in your heart."

Coleman's church held a surprise party for him Sunday. His daughter says he's been enjoying his birthday.
