Motorcycle Ride for Recovery raises money to fight drug addiction
BRISTOL, Va. - A group in Bristol held a fundraiser motorcycle ride to help treat and raise awareness for drug addiction Saturday. Tara Tranum founded Ride for Recovery after her father, Joe Tranum, died last year following a motorcycle crash. The fundraiser ride was held in memory of him. Tara Tranum said she lost her father years before his death to drug addiction. "I don't want any other children or family members to feel the way that we felt when our father passed away," Tara Tranum said. "It leaves those who are left behind very lost and confused. So that's why I'm motivated to help everyone that I can." Tara wore her father's motorcycle jacket as she rode out with the group of bikers from Black Wolf Harley Davidson on Old Abingdon Highway. Ride for Recovery has raised more than $2,300 dollars at the time of this publication. Tara Tranum said she thinks the fundraiser will raise quite a bit more money.
