Ohio woman gets two years for smuggling drugs into SW VA prison

An Ohio woman has received a two-year prison sentence for smuggling meth into a federal prison in Lee County last year.

Court documents show Nicole Diane Shroyer, 46, pleaded guilty and waived her indictment on the same day in February to one count of conspiring to provide an inmate of a prison a prohibited object.

Prosecutors said that Shroyer came to the U.S. Penitentiary in January 2016 and smuggled the drugs inside her body and then passed them to inmate Jermaine Jeffries, who was previously sentenced to five years for taking the meth.
