Police use flash bangs to enter apartment in Bristol, Va.


Residents near Lee Street in Bristol, Virginia may have heard loud explosions Monday night.

Police tells us the "explosions" were flash bangs and are a method to distract people inside.

Captain Maynard Ratcliff says their department has received many complaints about this place and they got a search warrant to ge inside. He says during the search they found what they think is meth. Police believe the people there were selling it.

"We entered the house with our SWAT team there were some explosions the people in the neighborhood or hearing it was not gunfire it's what we call flash bangs," Captain Ratcliff said.

Ratcliff says two people have been arrested.

Virginia State Police and the Bristol, Tennessee Police Department assisted.
