UPDATE: Interviews set for City Manager candidates in Bristol, Virginia
Bristol, Virginia City Council will meet behind closed doors Saturday and next Wednesday to interview city manager applicants by phone or Skype.
Councilman Doug Fleenor says the city received about 20 applications and has narrowed candidates down to six who will be interviewed.
City Attorney Randy Eads has been filling in as interim city manager since city council did not renew the contract of former city manager Tabitha Crowder in July.
Fleenor wouldn't comment on whether Eads is a candidate to take the position permanently. Crowder was paid a salary of $125,000.
