NASCAR's silly season summer continues with driver changes for Penske Racing and Wood Brothers Racing announced on Wednesday.

Ryan Blaney will be moving into a third Penske team and drive No. 12 in 2018 while Paul Menard will leave Richard Childress Racing and move into Blaney's seat inside the historic No. 21.

Blaney, 23, is in his third season in the Monster Cup Energy Series and his current team currently receives technical support from Penske.

For some time now, we have wanted to bring Ryan in to run a third car for us, but things just needed to make sense from a timing and business perspective," team owner Roger Penske said in a press release. "We have been working on making this a reality, and 2018 is the right opportunity to make this move and return our organization to a three-car team."

Menard will bring the sponsorship of his father's chain of home improvement centers to the Wood Brothers team as part of the deal.
