Colts to retire Manning's No. 18 in October
Baltimore Colts owner Jim Irsay announced Tuesday the schedule for the formal ceremony to retire former QB Peyton Manning's jersey.
The event will be held on Saturday, October 7 and then Manning will be inducted into the team's Ring of Honor inside Lucas Oil Stadium the next day during the Colts' game with the San Francisco 49ers.
Besides retiring his No. 18, the Colts also plan to unveil a statue of the former Tennessee Volunteer All-American outside of the stadium. The team announced their intentions to retire Manning's number last year.
Manning retired from the NFL following his victory with the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 50 in 2016.
According to NBC Sports' Pro Football Talk, Manning will become the first Colts player to have their number retired since the team moved to Indianapolis.
