ETSU hall of famer Mister Jennings named women's coach at Lees-McRae


East Tennessee State University hall of famer and former NBA star Keith "Mister" Jennings was named head women's basketball coach at Lees-McRae College.

The announcement was made Friday at the Banner Elk, North Carolina school where Jennings has spent the last three years as an assistant men's coach.

Mister holds several ETSU records including single season marks for assists and steals per game. He led the Buccaneers to three consecutive Southern Conference championship and trips to the NCAA tournament. He continued his career in the NBA from 1992-1997 playing for the Golden State Warriors and Denver Nuggets.

He was inducted into the ETSU Athletic Hall of Fame in 2013.

"...The lady Bobcats will receive coaching and teaching that will make them better on and off the basketball court. For everyone who prayed for me, supported me and believed in me, I say thank you!" Jennings said in a report issued by Lees-McRae.
