More than 70 boats took to Cherokee Lake earlier this month for the inaugural Coal Miner's Bass Fishing Tournament- an event held to honor current and former coal workers and their committment to the region.
Daniel Taylor and William Solomon captured first with a haul of 16.09 pounds, according to data from events organizers Wolfe Williams and Reynolds. Brent Grimm and Bobby Drinnon finshed second and Matt Dillard and Shawn Hudson came in third.
