The hours are ticking away until the first race of the season and it's exciting times indeed for race fans. I cover a lot of sports and NASCAR has one of the shortest off seasons, and yet it feels like the longest. Good thing we have previews and lists to keep up occupied. Lets continue to get in the mood with this countdown..Here's today's driver:

Number 11- Joey Logano, Penske Racing

Joey Logano is going to down in the history books for something he did last season, that won't ever happen again. His 'encumbered' win kept him out of the NASCAR playoffs. There will be other drivers I'm sure that will miss the postseason because a win being disallowed, but it won't be encumbered. That word is being stripped from the NASCAR lexicon this season (to the disappointment of no one), so that is a distinction that is Logano's and Logano's alone. Good for him.

All sarcasm aside, the 22 team has got to be happy to put the 2017 season behind them. It was a disaster. Logano finished 17th in the points, which is his worst finish since 2012 and really not at all what he and his team has become, he's a top 10 driver in the garage, in a good year a top five driver. He will win a race this season, one that will count toward the playoffs, so making the postseason won't be a problem this season for the 22, I don't think. The thing is, Logano and his team really lagged behind the 2 car in 2017 and I'm not sure if bringing a third team into the shop will help or hurt the 22's quest to get back on track this season. Which is why for now, I have him just outside the top 10 in the standings.
