Engine malfunction causes tractor-trailer blaze in Glade Spring

An engine fire caused a tractor-trailer blaze in Glade Spring which started near mile marker 28 southbound on Interstate 81 late Monday, officials reported.

When crews arrived, the tractor-trailer was engulfed. The trailer was loaded with plastic coat hangers which were burning as well. The fire also spread to nearby vegetation.

The driver reported to officials that an engine malfunction started the fire. No injuries were reported.
