Local and state investigators are on the scene of a fatal fire in Unicoi County.

According to Sheriff Mike Hensley, the call came in around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday to a home on Georgia Avenue. It was a fully-engulfed fire when crews arrived. 

Once under control, firefighters discovered a female victim inside. Sheriff Hensley says the victim is believed to be the homeowner, but her identity has not been released.

They are still working to determine a cause of the fire. Sheriff Hensley says it does not appear to be suspicious.
