A local singer and dancer is hitting the main stage with a famous actor: Hugh Jackman.

Johnson City native Abby Raper has been selected to perform in his ensemble on NBC's "TODAY" show. Jackman's appearance is part of his promotion for his upcoming world tour.

"I'm kind of nervous because it's Hugh Jackman!" said Abby.

She's only 13-years-old, but has been dancing since she was two and singing and acting since age 10.

"Sometimes performing is stressful, but then I think about why I'm doing this and why I love it, and it all pays off in the end," said Abby.

For her, her hard work is already paying off. Last week she found out she was chosen to perform a number from "Les Misérables" alongside Jackman.

"We were amazed and shocked because there were so many other students who wanted to do this," said Lisa Raper, Abby's mom.

Abby's segment will air on the "TODAY" show on December 4th.
