2 men charged in Bristol, Tennessee Dollar General robbery
BRISTOL, Tenn. —
Authorities have charged two men in connection with a Sunday robbery at the Dollar General on Bluff City Highway in Bristol, Tennessee.
The Bristol Tennessee Police Department said a man approached the register with an item and when the clerk opened the register, the suspect shoved the clerk out of the way and took money and left the scene in a vehicle.
Authorities quickly found a vehicle matching the description given to them. Two men were found in the vehicle and authorities said James Bell tried to dispose of the money taken during the robbery during the encounter but was stopped by officers.
Bell, 59, was charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery. Michael Willis, 61, was charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and tampering with evidence.
Both men remain at the Sullivan County Jail on $50,000 bonds.
