Aggravated assault charges placed against Jonesborough woman
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. —
A Jonesborough woman was jailed on two counts of aggravated assault after two Johnson City residents told officers she came after them with blades.
Officers found Kathy Whitson, 53, sitting on the sidewalk of 23 Veterans Way Tuesday afternoon with blood on her due to a laceration on her hand.
Inside the residence where the incident took place, two victims were interview and said Smith assaulted them. One victim said the woman attacked him from behind and was able to take away a wooden cane that contained a hidden sword.
The other victim said Whitson came at him with a butcher knife while he ran into a bedroom. Whitson began stabbing the door then stabbing a bar table that led to her injury, police reported.
She was transported to a local hospital treatment then jailed in Jonesborough where her bond was set at $20,000.
