The Anderson Street Methodist Church in Bristol Tennessee had something to celebrate today as they remember Tennessee Ernie Ford.

The sound of Ernie Ford's music rang throughout the chapel as family, friends and community members gathered inside to celebrate what would have been his 100th birthday today.

The Ford family attended the church and sang in the choir.

Ernie Ford even recorded an album inside the church.

The organist who played alongside Ford, played today.

Shirley Rhoton was good friends with the Ford family and remembers hearing Ernie sing.

"Ernie had such a neat voice. But to hear it in person,it sounded like it came from his toes. I never heard this beautiful voice. And it was a wonderful evening," says Rhoton.

Memorabilia of the famous singer hangs in the church to honor his legacy and love of faith.
