Southwest Virginia doctor, wife each face more than 100 charges
APPALACHIA, Va. —
A southwest Virginia doctor and his wife have been indicted on more than 100 charges related to drug distribution, prescription fraud and Medicaid fraud.
Dr. Michael B. Ford ran the Appalachian Medical Clinic and is currently facing 124 charges. His wife, Una Faye Ford, faces 110 charges. She worked in the clinic as well.
An employee there, Deborah Fugate, was also charged. She faces 24 charges related to Medicaid fraud and fraudulently obtaining narcotics.
Agents raided the facility back in March.
All three were indicted by a Wise County grand jury.
