Armed robbery reported at Carter County Bank in Elizabethton
Police are searching for a male suspect accused of demanding cash at gunpoint at Carter County Bank in Elizabethton Wednesday afternoon.
Elizabethton Chief of Police Jason Shaw told WCYB that the man entered the finance center just after 1:30 p.m. with his face covered and pointed the weapon at the teller.
The suspect is described as a white male between 50 and 55-years-old who was wearing a yellow shirt. He exited the bank and left the scene on Milligan Avenue headed toward Johnson City in a silver Ford Fusion with a sunroof.
The FBI is also assisting in the investigation.
