Certificate of need awarded for Holston Medical Group expansion at Meadowview
Holston Medical Group announced Thursday plans to expand their current Meadowview facilities to include a new multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center.
The nearly $4 million investment will create 35 new jobs and recently received a certificate of need designation by the Tennessee Health Services and Development Agency, according to a report issued by the organization.
The surgery center has a projected performance of 5,113 cases in its first year and will consist of three rooms that can be used either as surgery suites or for other procedures such as endoscopy and other minor procedures, the HMG report said.
"In addition, HMG now has the ability to bring value-based contracting into the outpatient surgery market, promoting improved quality, lower costs and a positive patient experience," the healthcare provider wrote.
Construction is scheduled to begin this year.
