Cpl. Jason Strawn has been overseas on deployment for the past six months. But the middle Tennessee soldier made an epic homecoming to surprise his two sons on Monday.

Chelsea Strawn, Jason's wife, tells FOX 17 News that 5-year-old Archer and 12-year-old Austin hadn't a clue that their dad would be home in time for Christmas.

The surprise happened at Decaturville Elementary during an assembly. The school had recently received a grant from a shoe company and all the kids were given new shoes to take home. As a bonus, a local church also donated hats and gloves for the kiddos.

Chelsea was at the assembly, with Austin reluctantly in tow for his brother's school program and the promise of lunch afterwards.

The students were told there was one more surprise - Santa! Santa said he had a huge gift to give out and picked one lucky student's name from a bucket. Archer was excited to be opening such a big gift and Mrs. Claus grabbed Austin to help his little brother.

That's when the true magic of the holiday happens and Jason surprises his two boys from underneath a present.
