An investigation has been launched by the Wise County, Virginia Sheriff's Office after a middle school student was seriously injured during an altercation on campus, News 5 has confirmed.
Superintendent of Schools Greg Mullins said the incident occurred at Union Middle School in Big Stone Gap on Wednesday but because it involved juveniles the system is limited in what can be released.
