FOUND: Kingsport Police locate missing elderly man
KINGSPORT, Tenn. —
11:15 p.m. UPDATE: According to Kingsort Police, J.R. Pratt was found safe and sound by law enforcement authorities in Hamblen County, Tennessee.
He is currently in the care of the Hamblen County Sheriff’s Office, in the process of being reunited with his family.
The Kingsport Police Department would like to thank the Hamblen County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in his safe recovery.
The Kingsport Police Department is asking for help finding a missing elderly man.
According to police, J.R. Pratt, 90, was reported missing by his daughter Wednesday evening.
The police said Pratt is dependent upon medications and has been diagnosed with dementia.
Officers said he should be considered missing and endangered.
Pratt was last seen about 4 p.m. Wednesday driving a 1995 Buick Regal sedan. The car is light blue in color and has a silver luggage rack. The license plate should read TN 571FYY.
He was seen leaving Fairway Ford on East Stone Drive, and reportedly headed toward Courtesy Chevrolet, also on East Stone.
Police said Courtesy Chevrolet employees said he never arrived.
Pratt is 5'4" and weighs 135 pound. He has brown hair fading to gray with a receding hairline. He has brown eyes and wears glasses. He was last seen wearing a blue sweatshirt, blue jeans, a black jacket, a black hat, and black athletic shoes.
Police ask that anyone who sees him to keep him in sight and promptly call Kingsport Central Dispatch at 423-246-9111.
