Federal court records confirmed a compromise settlement has been reached in the $1.3 million false arrest lawsuit brought by a man against Bristol's Cabela’s store.

Chris Blevins, Jr. claimed he was falsely accused of shoplifting and was stunned with a taser by Bristol, Virginia police officers working as store security on Black Friday in 2017.

Blevins filed suit in federal suit in Abingdon, where records say the scheduled March jury trial is now off because a compromise settlement reached. No details on the settlement were provided.

The police officers, Sergeants Wendy Brewer and Patricia Eller, were also investigated internally for their behavior and failing to report the use of a taser. There is no word yet on their future with the department.
