The roaming habits of the native black bear continue to be on display this spring in the Mountain Empire.

This time, News 5 viewer Isaac Testerman submitted photos taken from outside his Appalachia, Virginia home early Thursday morning showing a mother bear and her cubs rummaging around a trash bin.

Photos were sent to WCYB just two weeks ago that showed a bear walking a perimeter fence near the Holston Army Ammunition Plant in Kingsport.

Some encounters have not been as pleasant for others. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency reported last weekend that three bears were captured near the Park Vista Hotel in Gatlinburg and then euthanized after reports were made about the animals destroying property and chasing a home owner.
