The man who was shot in Johnson City Monday night was wanted on multiple charges, including kidnapping, according to the Johnson City Police Department.

Police responded to the 1700 block of Lone Oak Road around 6:15 p.m. Officers found a male subduing Wayne Alvin Morris Sr. in the yard of the house. Morris had been shot several times, according to police and was taken to an area medical facility.

During the investigation, police said a male and female victim arrived at the home to find Morris, who was armed and hiding behind the house. The male located Morris and was assaulted before shooting Morris, police said. Authorities added that the female victim had an active order of protection against Morris.

Before this incident, Morris was wanted by the Johnson City Police Department for aggravated assault, kidnapping, stalking, and violation of an order of protection. He will face additional charges for this incident, police added.

The shooting investigation will be turned over to the First Judicial District Attorney's Office for review, according to police.
