Move over Super Bowl... it's the Science Bowl!

On Saturday, John Adams Elementary School in Kingsport hosted the Volunteer State Regional Middle School Science Bowl.

Students from 30 middle schools across Tennessee came to compete in fast-paced rounds of questions covering science and math.

First place went to Farragut Middle. Second place went to Maryville Middle. And third place went to Jefferson Middle.

Students from Jefferson Middle tell News 5 they've been practicing for the Science Bowl since October, and are happy to have placed at all.

"I think we worked pretty hard for this. So, it feels good to get what you were aiming for. This is my first time competing and it was really fun to work with my teammates who are awesome," said 7th grader Nia Maheshwari.

Kingsport hopes to host the Science Bowl again next year.
