One of Colorado's most wanted sex offenders busted in Morristown
A morning trip to a grocery store in Morristown, Tennessee, ended up being the last taste of freedom for one of Colorado's most wanted sex offenders.
Pete Custer, 65, was arrested at 10 a.m. in Hamblen County by the U.S. Marshals Smoky Mountains Fugitive Task Force, according to a report from the Department of Justice.
He had reportedly been on the run since February of 2017.
Custer was convicted on charges of lewd and lascivious acts with a minor under the age of 14 in California in 1991 but had been in and out of prison until he was arrested on additional charges in Colorado, the report said.
