MEADOWVIEW, Va. — Three Washington County, Virginia residents are facing multiple charges after authorities said a deputy assisted with social services on a child welfare complaint.
Police said a child was taken from the residence that night, and a search warrant was obtained and executed later that night.
The visit led deputies to obtain a search warrant for the apartment on Cory Lane in Meadowview. Authorities said they found multiple drugs and charged three people with child neglect and drug charges.
Apartment residents Toni Heath Johnson, 55, and Melissa Osborne Johnson, 41, was each arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, child abuse and neglect and possession of marijuana.
Wesley Eric Hoover, 33, of Saltville, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine. Hoover was also wanted in Tennessee.
All three are being held in the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail in Abingdon without bond.
