Bristol, VA police searching for at least two armed robbery suspects

UPDATE: 9:15 p.m.

Bristol, VA police are searching for at least two armed robbery suspects.

Captain Maynard Ratcliff said someone was robbed and beaten by what they believe to be a frying pan near Johnson Court apartments.

Witnesses told police the suspects went inside an apartment and told officers people, including children, were inside.

"Now we'll shift our investigation to locate the suspects. At this point we really don't know where they might've gone," Captain Ratcliff said.


UPDATE, 8:10 p.m.

News 5's Jessica Griffith is reporting that BVPD officers were verbally communicating with the two suspects.

After initial communication, SWAT team members entered the apartment and the dwelling was empty.


Bristol Virginia police are investigating reports of a robbery that led to the suspects running into an apartment in the Johnson Court complex off Lee Highway.

A BVPD spokesperson told News 5's Jessica Griffith that an individual was robbed just after 5:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

The two suspects then ran into the dwelling and the spokesperson said the apartment may have children inside.
