Police: Johnson City auto burglar arrested after victim follows him
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. —
A Johnson City man now charged with six counts of auto burglary is behind bars after police say one of his victims followed the suspect in his vehicle until police could stop him.
Adam Franklin Stephens, 23, was arrested Thursday. He was also charged with one count of theft over $1,000 and two counts of theft under $1,000.
Police said the arrest came following an investigation into a series of auto burglaries in Johnson City early Thursday. Authorities said they found a large amount of stolen property in Stephens's truck. The property has been linked to six auto burglaries and more charges are pending, according to police.
Stephens is being held in the Washington County Jail on a $50,000 bond and is due in court Friday.
