Food City Family Race Night

Race weekend kicked off at Bristol Motor Speedway Friday night for the fans with Food City Family Race Night.

News 5's Jessica Griffith talked to some dedicated Bristol fans about what keeps them coming back.

Race fans, starting their weekend at the worlds fastest half mile... Bristol style.

"I love race night we've been doing it for 20 years," Michell Roberts said.

There's music, free food and drivers.

Plus, the sound of cars driving around the track filling the air.

"It's a happening thing. It's Bristol baby!" Roger Creasy said.

The fans we talked to are Bristol veterans. HP Carrier said he has been coming to the races since 1983.

But this night is more than free food and meeting drivers.

"It's all about family," Terry Rose said.

"I have my son here we do it every year he has since he was little," Roberts said.

"Make a lot of good memories," Creasy said.
