After concerns voiced by law enforcement earlier, prison facilities across the state of Tennessee were locked down Friday.
Most of those facilities are now back to regular operations but Department of Corrections Director of Communication Neysa Taylor confirmed to WCYB that Northeast Correctional Complex in Mountain City remains on lockdown as of Friday evening.
Northeast and other facilities will return to normal operation as the department reviews additional intelligence and evaluates the security at each facility, Taylor said in her statement.
It marks the second time in two months that the Johnson County facility has been locked down. An attack on a corrections officer in October forced the facility into special confinement for several days.
