Two Sullivan County, Tennessee deputies are being lauded for helping a patient in Kingsport earlier this week.

A report issued Friday said a call came into dispatch regarding a man who was passed out behind the wheel at Pizza Plus on Memorial Boulevard.

Officers Cody Cookenour and Kim Harrell then arrived on the scene and found the man unconscious and without a pulse. That is when both officers began administering CPR and they continued to work on the patient for 20 minutes until they were able to find a pulse.

SCSO Public Information Officer Kristen Quon told News 5 that although the officers were able to help the man, the patient passed away later in the week according to a family member.
