Bristol Compressors responded to a lawsuit filed by former employees in U.S. District Court in Abingdon on Monday.

Employees are seeking class action status and say the company violated laws requiring adequate warning of the plant closure in November and were denied benefits due to them.

In its response, Bristol Compressors denies all allegations. The company asks the court to deny damages requested by the employees and instead, asks to be awarded its costs, interest and attorney fees having to defend untrue allegations.

The closure of the Bristol Compressors plant resulted in nearly 500 people left without a job.
