A Lee County, Virginia man is due to be transported back to South Carolina to face manslaughter charges after waving his extradition in court on Tuesday.

The move was finalized in General District Court in Jonesville for Joshua Ray Wilder, 32, who was captured Monday in his home county after police said he fled the scene of a Saturday shooting in the town of Easley, SC.

The Pickens County Sheriff's Office said Wilder accidentally fired a shot from a handgun while inside a home which struck fellow Lee County resident Christy Parsons, 37, in the torso. She was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Investigators said Wilder left the home shortly after the incident along with another witness.

Wilder is charged with one count of involuntary manslaughter.
