UPDATE, 2:35 p.m.

Martin McClure Motorsports posted an official statement on their social media account Monday afternoon following Eric McClure's arrest on Sunday:

Former Xfinity Series driver and Southwest Virginia native Eric McClure has posted bond after his weekend arrest at his home.

NBC Sports has obtained a copy of the criminal affidavit that showed McClure was arrested at his home and is charged with misdemeanor assault and battery. He was released after posting a $2,500 bond and is scheduled for arraignment Feb. 21 in Smyth County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court, the report said.

NASCAR confirmed Monday that McClure is not currently a member of their series. He is currently the owner of a K&N Series team that did not compete in the season opener at New Smyrna, Florida. He stepped away from racing after a series of race-related concussions including one after a vicious crash at Talladega in 2012.
