UPDATE: State corrections identifies inmate killed in Wallens Ridge fight

The Virginia Department of Corrections identified the name of the prisoner killed following a fight with his cellmate Friday at Wallens Ridge State Prison.

Donald Wayne Gary, 55, had been at the Southwest Virginia facility serving a life sentence for a long list of charges including robbery and carjacking, according to the official report.

Gary was convicted of kidnapping two women from a Danville, Virginia trailer park at gunpoint in May 1998. Police said he then robbed a man at a local car wash and carjacked his vehicle.
