UPDATE: Suspect indicted for Weber City murder

The man police said fled to neighboring East Tennessee after his wife was found dead inside their Weber City home was indicted Tuesday by a Scott County grand jury.

Jason Borders, 43, is charged with first-degree murder, aggravated malicious wounding, strangulation and child endangerment, according to the Commonwealth's Attorney office.

Eva Borders was deceased at the dwelling in the 100 block of Charleston Street when Weber City officers arrived on June 2. The suspect was also being sought that day by Virginia State Police after they secured warrants for his arrest when they received reports about an incident between Jason Borders and an unidentified female.

Borders was captured later that evening in Hawkins County, Tennessee and later waived extradition back to Scott County.

He is being held without bond in the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail in Duffield.
