Washington County, TN school board approves contract with new director

The Washington County, Tenn. school board has approved a contract for its new director, Bill Flanary.

Flanary has served in an interim role since May, following the resignation of Kimber Halliburton as director.

The promotion for Flanary would be the culmination of decades of service to Washington County schools.

The compensation is the same as what former director of schools, Kimber Halliburton, made: at least $127,500 per year.

That figure could be higher due to bonuses based on evaluations.

If system teachers get a raise, Flanary would also receive a raise.

There's also a $400 per month vehicle allowance.

The contract goes into effect on November 9th, 2018. It goes through June 30th, 2020.
