Wayne Anderson running for re-election for Sullivan County Sheriff
Blountville, Tenn —
Sullivan County Sheriff Wayne Anderson says he's ready for another term.
Anderson announced his plans to run for the Office of Sheriff in 2018 during a news conference in Blountville at the Sullivan County Courthouse.
He's been sheriff since 1998 and said he still feels like he has work to do and wants to see programs that have been started to continue.
"I just want to complete what we've started for years. You know, we have a lot of programs that I listed today that I just want to make sure Sullivan County keeps that up for a while. They're good programs and they work," Anderson said.
Those programs include the anti-bullying classes and the "Toys from Cops" program.
He also says he hopes to build a new jail if he's re-elected.
