Frontier Health is hosting an event Saturday to inform people how to prevent suicide. It's called “Question, Persuade, Refer,” advocating for asking family and friends if they are suicidal.

"It's something that we can't shy away from,” Director of Crisis Continuum Kristy Tipton said. “We have to learn how to ask that question, because when you ask the question, people are typically honest with you."

The event tomorrow will be at Frontier's headquarters on 1167 Spratlin Drive in Gray. It runs from 10 a.m. until noon and is open to the public.

Frontier staff will teach people how to ask loved ones if they are suicidal and what to do if that answer is yes. Frontier accept calls from people in crisis on its 24/7 hotline: 1-877-928-9062.
