Northeast State Community College hosts Tennessee Reconnect day
BLOUNTVILLE, Tenn. —
If you're looking to go to college a little later in life, Northeast State Community College is helping adults find an education plan that fits their needs.
On Saturday, the school hosted a Tennessee Reconnect session. Attendees were walked through how to apply to the school and to scholarships.
This was the third time Northeast State held a session, and it was completely full.
The workshop is part of Governor Bill Haslam's Drive to 55 effort-- which strives to get 55% of Tennesseans a college degree.
"We're just trying to inform non-traditional students that if they have some college or no college, this is an option for them," said the school's Dean of Enrollment Management, Jennifer Starling.
Financial aid specialists were on hand to make sure each student could afford the education they wanted.
